The Flyers 3rd round pick from the 2008 draft, Marc-Andre Bourdon, is now signed to an entry level contract for an undisclosed amount. This 6’0, 215 pound defenseman caught eyes from many after having a good season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). According to the Flyers official site, he was 2nd in the league in points for defensemen, with 147 points in 186 regular season games. Not bad for a D-man.
If he continues to grow, this could be a very worthwhile draft pick/signing. An average-sized guy like that who is able to move the puck and score/set-up goals makes it interesting to see what he could do if and when he gets to the NHL level; which I’m hoping he will. Hope to see him a couple seasons since the track for most blue liners is a few years to move up and make impact at the NHL level.
